*SCARCE SPRINGFIELD M1 GARAND NATIONAL MATCH RIFLE. SN 5394238. Cal. 30-06. Standard rifle with 24″ bbl, National Match marked bbl, front sight, gas housing & rear sight. The op rod is not visibly except for a drawing number. Bbl is dated “6-56”. Mounted in a very highly figured smooth walnut stock with matching handguards and a new leather military sling. It has the “DOD” cartouche on left side of stock and a circle “P” proof on bottom of wrist. The stock is glass bedded around receiver and has the last four digits of the serial number in white ink in bbl channel. All internal parts appear to be Springfield. Butt trap contains a 4-pc cleaning rod handle/combo-tool, brush and slotted tip. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, as new. Retains virtually all of its orig arsenal finish to both metal & wood with crisp parkerizing on metal and a bright oil finish on wood. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore.
