JOHN ELLIOTT (American, 1859-1925) “THE RIVER”. Oil on canvas impressionistic scene shows a river having groups of blossoming lily pads with tree lined banks leading to a small hill. Unsigned front but back of canvas with title, artist and dates. Probably a South Carolina Scene. Housed in a fine carved wood gilt antique frame. SIZE: 18” x 40”. CONDITION: Cleaned with minor inpainting. Very good. 9-71907 (4,000-5,000)
