SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1863 MUSKET. NSN. Cal. 58. 40” bbl. Dated 1864 on the lockplate. The rear sight is a crude replacement. The bayonet is not correct. CONDITION: Rust-brown patina overall with very heavy pitting at the rear of the bbl. Stock has been repaired at the wrist, sanded and oiled. There is a new crack at the buttplate. The lock is good.
