RARE REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK BABY SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44 RF Henry. SN 1201. Fine little carbine with 18” tapered rnd bbl, pinched blade front sight and 2-position 600 yard rear sight. It has a sling bar & ring on left side of receiver. Mounted with nicely figured, slab sawed, uncheckered American walnut with short carbine forearm with one band & spring keeper. It has straight stock with semi-crescent buttplate. Left side of wrist is stamped “44 RF” & serial number is on left side of top & bottom tangs under the wood. Provenance: San Diego Police Historical Association. CONDITION: Extremely fine, possibly unfired. Bbl retains 95-97% glossy, bright, orig blue with some thinning toward muzzle & a minor nick or two. Receiver & trigger guard retain most of their orig case colors, moderately faded, brilliant in sheltered areas. Buttplate retains about all of its orig case colors turned dark. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-60184 JR350 (7,000-10,000)
