*SCARCE REMINGTON MODEL 4S “MILITARY MODEL” ROLLING BLOCK RIFLE. Cal. 22. SN 6188. Fine boys military rifle with 28-5/16” rnd bbl, silver bead front sight & sheet metal, ladder rear sight with a screw/bayonet mount on bottom of exposed bbl. It has full length forestock with half length handguard with one sheet metal band, with stacking swivel near tip & sling swivel on band & on buttstock. Buttstock has straight grip with smooth steel buttplate. Left side of receiver is marked “MILITARY MODEL”. It is estimated that there were less than 6,000 of these made in period 1915-1924 and few survive with good condition. CONDITION: Extremely fine, near new. Retains virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood. Blue is slightly dull with case colors brilliant on left side & top of receiver. Right side is fading to silver with dark patina & spot of pitting. Trigger guard has turned to brown patina. Wood is sound with light handling & storage marks and retains virtually all of its orig oil finish. Mechanics are fine, worn bore with some shine towards muzzle end. 4-60159 JR362 (2,000-3,000)
