This circa 1906 cast iron strength tester was a perennial saloon favorite.Inserting a coin allowed you to punch the padded leather mechanism and record the force of the blow on a dial above.This version is the Cadillac of the models featuring a tapered faux marble finished support column; a heavily embossed cast iron base with garlands and fleur-de-lis; heavily embossed, nickel plated cast iron dial bezel and marquee; heavily embossed, cast iron mechanism housing; and a oak and cast iron mounting bracket where it would have been fastened against a wall.Includes key.SIZE:69-1/2″ t.CONDITION:Nicely restored with a reproduction paper dial face.1-28398(6,000-9,000)
