*SMITH & WESSON MODEL 27-1 DA REVOLVER. Cal. 357 Mag. SN S218714. Blue finish, 6” bbl, red ramp & white outline sights, target trimmer & hammer, with diamond checkered medallion magnum grips. The serial number is marked in the yoke cutout and the back of the cylinder is stamped with an “L” signifying the new “Left Hand” threads on the ejector rod. Accompanied by a gold & blue 2-pc box for a similar revolver. Also accompanies is a Smith & Wesson letter identifying this revolver and indicating it was shipped June 26, 1962 to M & H Sporting Goods Co., Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Jinks further states that the 27-1 revolvers are a rare variation to find and that they can be identified by the “special “L” stamp on the cylinder”. He states that the “L” marking was used at the time of the change from right hand to left hand thread extractor rods while the factory was still assembling both types. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Has been fired but retains virtually all its original bright factory finish with a faint cylinder line. Extremely fine grips, crisp mechanics and bright shiny bore.
