REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK NO. 1 SPORTING RIFLE. Cal. 32 RF Long. SN 11727. Usual configuration with 24-1/8” oct bbl that appears to be orig length with ivory bead front sight, missing the bead, and Remington’s semi-buckhorn, rear sight. Mounted with very nicely figured, shell-grain, uncheckered, American walnut with metal tipped, semi-schnable forearm & straight stock with semi-crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 85-90% strong, orig blue with edge wear & some flaking on right side. Receiver retains strong, bright case colors in sheltered areas, somewhat faded elsewhere, thin on right side. Trigger guard retains brilliant case colors in sheltered areas with balance fading & trigger bow mostly a brown patina on outside. Top & bottom tangs retain strong case colors as does the forend tip. Breechblock & hammer retain about 90% glossy orig blue. There is a hairline on right side of wrist & a small chip, otherwise wood is sound with light handling & use marks and retains a light, hand worn patina. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore with some roughness in front of chamber. 4-60143 JR381 (2,000-3,000)
