REMINGTON NO. 1 ROLLING BLOCK SPORTING RIFLE. SN 2961. 45/70 Cal. 34” oct bbl. Marked “45 CTG’E” on the bottom of the bbl. 2-line “REMINGTONS ILION N.Y.U.S.A. / PAT. MAY 3D NOV.15TH 1864 APRIL17TH 1866” on the upper tang. Single set trigger. Long German silver bead on wide dovetail base front sight. The rear sight has been replaced with a solid v-notch now in its second location. CONDITION: Very good. Smooth brown patina overall. Wood has normal dents and gouges with some oil stain around the action and a crack at the buttplate. Action is fine. (Marcot Collection). 4-60147 FS651 (2,000-2,500)
