PLAINS OR PLATEAU DEER ANTLER HEADDRESS, CIRCA 1900. Felt hat base covered with leather with stiffening material between. Antlers adhered to original skull top – thus remain as a sgl unit. Two rows of lane stitch beadwork in medium green and blue form a zigzag pattern across the brow area, a serrated red cloth ornament with metal cones suspended at each end of beadwork. Row of extra long horsehair locks suspended across the back. Leather chinstrap attached. Size: Overall height approximately 43”. CONDITION: Overall surface soiling. 4-56905 BL68 (2,000-3,000)
