NAVAJO RUG, EARLY 20TH CENTURY. Woven of handspun yarn in natural white and black, carded gray, and black aniline, and tan vegetable dyes. Complex pattern composed of numerous stepped designs and various geometric motifs. General “reservation style” impossible to determine a specific area of origin. Size: 126” long x 45” wide. CONDITION: General light surface soiling, a few insignificant spots, some breakage at extreme ends of warps, considerable breakage, loss of border whip stitch yarn. 4-55168 BL69 (1,500-2,500)
