WINCHESTER MODEL 94 TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30 WCF (30-30). SN 73342. Blued finish, 26” oct bbl, crescent butt, standard sights, smooth walnut stock. Accompanied by a Winchester letter from curator T. E. Hall stating “shipped as a rifle, caliber 30, octagon barrel, plain trigger, takedown. It was shipped July 3, 1900”. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Retains about 90% bbl blue with light muzzle & edge wear with a cleaned spot of fine pitting. Magazine tube retains 65-70% orig blue & receiver about 75% orig blue with some fine pitting mostly on right side. Lever retains about 70% bright case colors & hammer about 85% dark case colors. Buttplate is silver. Has hole drilled for sling swivel in toe end of buttstock. Few light dings in buttstock, couple of dings in forend & overall retains about 50% forearm finish & 80% stock finish with oil staining around tang.
