HOPI KACHINA, EARLY 20TH CENTURY. Possibly the “Star Kachina,” for the cross like motifs on the case mask. Made of cottonwood root, as is the tradition, and painted with distinctive designs to delineate the Kachina’s identification. Size: 8-1/2” high. CONDITION: Considerable abrasion of painted surface overall – from use wear; front part of right foot broken. 4-57302 BL66 (400-600)
