ENGLISH CHIPPENDALE SIDE CHAIR. Mid 19th Century. Chair having a wonderfully carved splat with scroll and leaf design with open pierce work. The crest having a drape leaf design with C-scrolls. Front molded square legs supported by a dovetailed H-stretcher. Newer over-upholstered stripe fabric seat. SIZE: 38″ h; 19-1/2″ seat h x 20-3/4″ seat x x 17-1/2″ seat d. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Joan B. Hanson, Fair Haven, N.J. CONDITION: Back legs have been ended out and minor other repairs, generally very good. 9-95879 (300-500)
