EARLY AMERICAN PAINT DECORATED MINIATURE BLANKET CHEST. Possibly Pennsylvania. The rectangular top with pin hinges fitted to the conforming case and opening to a storage compartment applied with a molded base raised on tall bracket feet with shaped returns. Paint decorated overall with polychrome flower heads within simulated red bordered panels, the whole on a brown ground. The interior with a terracotta wash, the lid interior with beige floral decoration SIZE: 7-1/2″ h x 11-1/2″ l x 6-1/4″ d. CONDITION: This miniature blanket box retains original painted surfaces, some fading and paint losses. 9-96688 (800-1,200)
