FINE CHIPPENDALE SLANT FRONT DESK WITH LARGE FAN CARVING. Four graduated drawers having old replaced large brasses with matching escheteon plates. Shaped bracket base, well carved 38-lobe fan to lid. Stepped interior with 24 drawers with nine pigeonholes. Hardwood desk possibly made of beech with cherry like grain. Desk shows evidence of original red wash. Bottom apron possibly may have held drop pendant. SIZE: 44 3/4″ h x 42 1/2″ w x 21 1/2″ d. CONDITION: Very good with only minor imperfections. 9-92051 (4,500-8,500)
