1890’S JULES STEINER BEBE DOLL. Doll of exceptional quality incised “J. Steiner Bte S.G.D.G. Paris Fre A17″ with a paper label on the body of the Steiner logo of a young girl carrying a French flag. She has well defined mottling of the ear canals, pale blue-gray glass paperweight eyes, finely painted eyelashes and eyebrows with delicately shaded lips. Body is fully jointed with straight wrists and elongated, well defined fingers and is well costumed in a pink cotton dress with crocheted overlay and pink ribbon ties down the center of the bodice. She has lovely matching drop earrings and an antique brown soft mohair wig. SIZE: 24” (62cm). CONDITION: Excellent with minimal wear to body finish, lacking pate. 1-8363 RS (5,000-7,000)
