PAINT AND STENCIL DECORATED NEW ENGLAND WASH STAND. The stand circa 1820 having mustard yellow paint, dark green highlighting, a scrolled back-splash with stenciling of fruit matching the stenciling on the middle tier shelf which supports a dovetailed drawer. Turned front posts ending in turned pointed legs. Top fitted with three holes, the largest for a wash bowl. SIZE: 36-1/4″ h x 18″ w x 14-1/4″ d. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Joan B. Hanson, Fair Haven, N.J. CONDITION: Cracks in both shelf areas, some paint loss, surface grime. Structurally good and retaining most of its original surface. 9-95857 (300-500)
