HENRY DAVID THOREAU SCRAP BOOK ALBUM. The postage commemorative stamp album having 50 First Day Issue stamps and postmarks on postcards, envelopes and print. The First Day Issue was Concord, MA July 12, 1967. Leonard Baskin was the artist of the design of the stamp and he has signed one of the First Day Issue ceremony cards along with Postmaster Concord Edward J. McCaffery and Asst. Postmaster General Richard J. Murphy. Also there is a pen written note to Mr. Dearborn indicating that the original drawing for the Thoreau stamp is in the Smithsonian and it is signed “Leonard Baskin”. Also one of the envelopes is signed by Thornton Wilder. Another envelope is signed “Edmund J. McCaffery”, one First Day Issue envelope is signed by Leonard Baskin and a commemorative program signed “Edmund J. McCaffery, Postmaster, Concord, MA”. A book plate First Day Cover signed “S.S.
