BELT POUCH, LATE 19TH CENTURY. According to consignor, belt pouch is of Apache origin. Front of pouch made of buffalo hide with fur. Back and lid of pouch made of grizzly bear right foreleg with claws intact, with a large domed brass button between each. Belt proper made of buffalo hide with fur intact, backed with green stained leather, and decorated with 26 brass conchas. 2 brass buttons for closure. Complimentary to hat in lot # 3580. Size: Pouch 9” x 9-1/2”, belt 40” x 2-1/2”. CONDITION: General use wear and grime. Conchas and buttons slightly oxidized. 4-55227 (3,000-6,000)
