FRAMED AUTOGRAPH: CARL SANDBURG, AUTHOR/POET (American, 1878-1967) & EDWARD STEICHEN, PHOTOGRAPHER (American, 1879-1973). Included in this collage are three items signed by Carl Sandburg and a boldly penned signature of Edward Steichen dated 1969. One of the Sandburg signatures is on a photographic print of himself photographed by Edward Steichen. Another is of Sandburg addressing a joint session of Congress on February 12, 1959 which was the 150th Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. The last is a clipped inscription and signature which has been attached to a First Day Issue cover of Carl Sandburg dated 1978. Housed in a silver gilt wood frame with white matte having five cutouts. SIZE: Total: 13-1/2″ x 23-1/4″. PROVENANCE: Collection of Elwyn Dearborn, Medford, NJ & Portland, ME.
