MASSACHUSETTS CHIPPENDALE STYLE MAHOGANY BOW FRONT CHEST OF DRAWERS. This nice 19th century bench made example with a rectangular top with bowed front edge, string inlaid, above the conforming case fitted with four graduated drawers with cockbeaded edges, raised on bracket feet with shaped returns joined to a molded base. SIZE: 33-1/4″ h x 36″ w x 21-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From an Ellsworth, Maine Estate. CONDITION: Structurally all original with original oval brasses, feet, and backboard.
