STARR CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal. 54 Perc. Usual configuration with 20-3/4” stepped round bbl with blade front sight and 2-position flip rear sight. Small forearm with straight stock and semi-crescent carbine brass buttplate. Usual markings on the lockplate and top tang. Left side of wrist and back of bottom tang are stamped with an “S”. SN 995. CONDITION: Fair to good. No original finish remains. Bbl being a light silver brown patina with scattered light pitting. Receiver and hammer are dark patina with moderate to heavy pitting. Lockplate retains 15-20% case colors. Wood is sound and retains most of an old refinish. Bore is strong but dark. 4-48646 JR664 (1,750-2,750)
