THOMAS CHIADO DECOY OF A PINTAIL. Mid 20th century. Illinois River Valley. The paint-decorated pintail with exaggerated breast, carved standing on a log cross-section base. The decoy with glass eyes. With chiseled signature in script, “T. Chiado” beneath base. SIZE: 12-1/2″h x 16-1/2″l. CONDITION: Structurally very good. Paint chips to tip of beak and to end of tail feathers. Additional minor scuff marks overall and with small chips on tail and wings. 9-23382 (600-800)
