ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN HENRY TWACHTMAN (American, 1853-1902) COASTAL CHURCH UNDER MOONLIGHT. Pastel coastal scene shows a stone church with lights in windows near a body of water having several boats and sails on horizon. All under a cloudy sky with central break showing full moon. Signed lower left “J H Twachtman”. Housed in a period gesso decorated stepped frame. SIZE: Sight: 15-1/2″ x 19-1/2″. CONDITION: Small split at center right and two spot areas of deterioration at bottom edge. Otherwise good. 9-94216 (1,500-2,500)
