LATE 19th C. PLAINS TRADE CROSS NECKLACE. Pendant cross made of two pieces of copper, the top one smaller than, and riveted with thirteen copper rivets over the other; copper ring riveted at top. Superimposed at the cross bar is a copper one penny token dated 1832. Leather thong strung with painted glass beads and four black bear claws. Size: Overall length is 19”, cross is 7-1/8” long x 4” wide. CONDITION: Cross heavily patinated; rivets oxidized; paint on beads largely flaked off. 4-55249 (1,200-1,500)
