CLASSICAL GILT DECORATED LOOKING GLASS. Second quarter 19th century, probably New York. The rectangular mirror plate beneath a gilt eglomise tablet decorated with a displayed eagle above a leafy garland all within a conforming frame of engaged half columns applied with cast plumage beneath a stepped molded crest with pendant spherules. SIZE: 53″ h x 29-1/2″ w overall. CONDITION: Mirror plate is original. Eglomise original but with repainted areas. Gilding retouched and with losses to applied slip decorations and outer molding. 9-22041 (400-600)
