SCARCE WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 50 EX (50-110). SN 109218. Standard grade rifle with 26″ oct bbl, Winchester globe front sight, 3-leaf express rear sight & a Lyman 21 receiver sight. It has full magazine, close-coupled dbl set triggers with nicely figured uncheckered walnut with straight stock & crescent buttplate. Accompanied by a copy of an email from the Cody Firearms Museum identifying this rifle with the set trigger and Lyman sights and that it was shipped 10.13.1902 to order #161156. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 75-80% finish with strong orig blue over forearm area for about 2/3 of bbl. Remaining 1/3 of bbl is turning to light patina. Magazine tube is mostly a blue/brown patina. Receiver retains 30-40% orig blue, mostly on left side in sheltered area with balance a gray/brown patina. Wood is sound showing moderate to heavy wear with light nicks & scratches & a wonderful hand rubbed patina. Mechanics are crisp, strong bright bore with a few spots of scattered light pitting. 4-57470 JR103 (5,000-8,000)
