MASK, NAVAJO, CIRCA 1900. Case mask, possibly associated with a Yei-be-chai ceremony. Native-tanned leather painted with white clay or kaolin; triangular black painted eyes, blackened gourd tubular mouth made from gourd stem and ringed with strip of otter fur at base; mane of red-dyed angora across top of head from side to side.
