SHERATON TIGER MAPLE MELODIAN AND MAPLE STOOL. Circa mid-19th century. The Melodian with rectangular hinged top opening to reveal a recessed 61 key keyboard within concave framing. The whole raised on ring-turned cylindrical tapered legs with ringed cuffs. The maple piano stool with circular top, swiveling on a square flaring pedestal base with canted corners, joined to a square plinth with concave sides, raised on square tapering feet. SIZE: Melodian: 34-1/2″ h x 42″ w, keyboard width 32″ x 24″ d. Stool: 20″ h x 13-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: Collection of Elwyn Dearborn, Medford, NJ & Portland, ME. CONDITION: Melodian case is refinished, in good condition overall, the keyboard currently inoperable. The stool refinished and reworked, retains good color. 9-95960 (500-1,000)
