GEORGE III MAHOGANY OPEN ARM CHAIR. Last quarter 18th century. Rectangular padded back with serpentine crest rail joined to shaped arms continuing to molded grips on in-curved molded supports centering the trapezoidal over upholstered seat. Raised on molded frontal chamfered square legs, rear legs backswept joined by a recessed molded box stretcher. SIZE: Back is 40-1/2″ h. Seat is 16-1/2″ h x 24″ w. PROVENANCE: Robert Frederick Woolworth Estate, Monmouth, Maine. (F.W. Woolworth Store). CONDITION: Structurally sound and original with old mortise and tenon repair to proper left arm at seat rail with additional repair at proper left arm at support. 9-23521 (800-1,200)
