BEAUTIFUL LARGE SET OF INDIAN MADE DBL SADDLEBAGS, NORTHERN PLAINS OR PLATEAU, CIRCA 1900. Possibly Blackfoot or Sarsi. Many elaborate saddlebags of genre function more as horse parade gear than as actual storage containers. The beaded panels of this example are executed in overlay stitch on canvas applied to cloth foundation with red and blue highlights; midsection and overall foundation consists of canvas. Hide fringes along bottom—four of the fringes along the bottom decorated with blue and red cloth inserts. CONDITION: No apparent damage. Generally very good to excellent.
