FRANK WESSON RHODE ISLAND MILITIA CARBINE. SN A285. Cal. 44 RF. 24” oct bbl. Stamped on the heel of the buttplate ”1 R. I. 63”. Standard 2-line Wesson markings on top of the bbl. A saddle ring and stud have been added to the left side of the frame. The trigger guard and buttplate have been nickel-plated. Wesson carbines with Benjamin Kittredge markings are generally considered to be Civil War use. CONDITION: Brown patina except on plated parts. Stock has normal dents and scratches.
