ROSA MARIE BONHEUR (French, 1822-1899) “BUFFALO HUNT”. Pencil and watercolor on paper shows two scenes of Native Americans hunting buffalo. The top scene shows three Braves in the midst of killing several buffalo, two on horseback, one standing. The other scene shows three Braves on horseback killing a buffalo amongst other standing buffalo. Signed bottom right “Rosa B-1909″. Housed in a bead decorated gilt modern frame with buff color matte, behind glass. SIZE: Sight: 9-1/4″ x 6”. PROVENANCE: Attached to reverse is a Gerald P. Peters label, also a label from the Collection of Robert L. B. Tobin (Involved in the starting of the Metropolitan Opera’s Art Collection).
