SMITH CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal. 50. SN 21049. Mass Arms manufactured carbine with 21-1/2″ oct to rnd bbl, German silver front sight blade and small carbine ladder rear sight. It has inspector initials on the left side flat of the bbl and two visible cartouches on the left wrist. It has nicely figured American walnut buttstock with smooth carbine buttplate and a rnd forearm with sgl band. There is a sling bar & ring on the left side of the receiver. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 93-95% strong bright orig blue with a few scattered spots of light surface rust. Receiver retains 60-70% fading case colors, the trigger guard is a gray metal color. Wood is sound with a fine hand rubbed patina. Mechanics are crisp, strong bright bore with scattered fine pitting. 4-55100 JR38 (1,750-2,750)
