CHINESE EXPORT PAINTING. Circa 1800. Oil on canvas of a gentleman wearing a yellow hunting jacket and holds a snuff bottle in one hand is seated in a chair. He looks toward a woman holding an opium pipe who stands with one hand gesturing towards a child who has a bird perched on his arm. All set on a veranda overlooking a waterway with other houses & trees in the background. Later frame, relined. SIZE: 24-1/2″ x 19″. PROVENANCE: From a private New York City collector. CONDITION: Colors remain vibrant with overall craquelure. Very good. 9-29010 (12,000-15,000)
