PRESENTATION SPENCER MODEL 1865 SPORTING RIFLE. Cal. 50. NSN. 26” rnd bbl. Has deluxe wood with pewter forearm tip, sling swivels and a tang sight. Standard three line marking above the receiver. “M. 1865” parallel to the bore on top of the bbl. A silver presentation plaque is set into the right side of the stock “PRESENTED BY / Honorable John Rose. / TO THE / Frontier Rifle Association. / COMPANY CHALLENGE MATCH. / Volley firing FirstPrize Five Rounds / Score 142 / WON BY / NO. 6. CompY. 51St Battn Serg Proper”. “PCM” is stamped on the bbl ahead of the rear sight. CONDITION: 90% thinning blue on the bbl. Faint hints of casehardening on the lockplate, but bright on the breechblock and lever inside. Wood has minor dents and chips in the varnish. Mechanically fine. 4-57316 (10,000-12,500)
