SUPERB SHARPS NEW MODEL 1859 MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 52. SN 36701. 36” rnd bbl. There is a bayonet lug on the bottom of the bbl. Sgl trigger. The 36” bbls were first called for in the Egyptian contract guns but this is the regular US caliber and was supposedly purchased by the state of Connecticut. CONDITION: 85% plus blue on the bbl. All other metal has been cleaned with a nice gray patina remaining & faint scattered pitting on left side of receiver. Wood with some handling marks. Mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny bore. One of the finest examples known of this model with 36″ bbl! 4-57344 (14,500-17,500)
