BERDAN SHARPS RIFLE. Cal.52. SN56162. 30” rnd bbl. Has “JT” cartouche in left buttstock. This rifle is near the end of a range of serial numbers generally believed to have been issued to Berdan’s during the Civil War. The serial number is in the middle of the “Bucktail” range and the gun was originally found in Otsego County, NY, just up the Susquehana, from the main recruiting area for the Bucktails. The gun is fitted with dbl set triggers. Stock is lightly refinished. Sling swivels are missing, CONDITION: Brown patina. Stock refinished. Bore is fair. 4-57190 (8,000-10,000)
