SMITH CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal. 50 Perc. Usual configuration with 21-5/8” oct to round bbl with German silver blade front sight, carbine ladder rear sight, straight grain walnut stock with two sharp cartouches on left wrist. Receiver is case colored and has a sling bar and ring on left side. SN 11459. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 96-97% strong original blue. Receiver retains 95-97% original case colors, brilliant in sheltered areas, faded elsewhere. Bbl hinge screw is slightly battered. Locking bar retains about 90% of its fine high polished blue. Wood is sound and retains most of its original finish with a few small dings on the forearm and a bruise with some light handling and storage marks on buttstock.
