EXCEPTIONAL MAINE FAUX GRAIN DECORATED DRESSING TABLE. Circa 1840. The arched splashguard with rolled ears, decorated with simulated rosettes and fruit cluster, joined to the raised box fitted with a pair of aligned drawers, stepped back on the top with canted corners above a frieze fitted with a single long drawer, raised on swelled cylindrical ring-turned legs with tapered feet. The whole with simulated rosewood decoration and painted with simulated string inlays. SIZE: 38-1/4″ h of back, 39″ h of working surface x 33-1/4″ w x 16-1/2 d. CONDITION: All finished surfaces in original untouched condition. Hardware old and reburnished, probably original. In exceptional condition with lovely decoration. 9-96448 (1,000-1,500)
