FRANK MYERS BOGGS (American, 1855-1926) “PONT MARIE, PARIS”. Oil on wood panel scene of the river Seine with two figures in a skiff in the center foreground. Pedestrians and carriages crossing an arched bridge in the middle distance, tall trees line the shore at the left and at the right large buildings and a tower are outlined against a cloudy sky. Signed lower left and dated “Paris, 1905″. Housed in a gilt decorative frame with gilt liner. Back having an old typed label indicating it was from the Samuel G. Peters Collection, Sold Parke-Benet Galleries, 1943. SIZE: 15″ x 18”. CONDITION: Surface dirt, otherwise very good. 9-94012 (1,500-2,500)
