STEVENS PLAINS, MAINE PAINT DECORATED TOLE DOCUMENT BOX. First half 19th century. The front decorated with orange/red fruit and flowers on a leafy ground with berry and leaf border. The top with a loop handle, the box fitted with a hasp and latch. SIZE: Ht 5 3/4″ L 9″ W 5″ CONDITION: With original paint throughout showing normal craquelure and wear. The hasp broken, otherwise very good. 9-96716 (1,000-1,500)
