DUNBAR DYSON BECK (American, 1903-1986) “VIEW OF A EUROPEAN VILLAGE”. Oil on canvas laid on board scene shows a terracotta colored large connected European village/castle on top of a hill with terraced fields leading to water. Unsigned. Retaining label on back of backing paper with artist and title. We are told that this is from the dispersal of the Estate in 1986 and that the label on reverse, which has a Cat. # 7-10-86-E-6 is an estate label. Dunbar Beck was a muralist. His murals are in Rockefeller Center and also painted the interior of a piano for President Theodore Roosevelt in the White House. SIZE: 22-1/2″ x 16-1/2″.
