UNSIGNED (19th Century) SHEPHERDESS WITH SHEEP. Oil on coarse canvas scene shows a seated woman wearing fancy dress and blue cape. She wears a fancy hat and a halo is above her head. A shepherds crook is seen behind her. There are three lambs, two with red roses in mouth, one with golden sprig and she also holds a red rose in her left hand. An evening landscape is seen behind with pasture, house and trees under dark sky. Housed in a partial gilt molded wood frame. SIZE: 32″ x 24″. CONDITION: Thin canvas with some deterioration along right stretcher line, otherwise good. 9-93926 (1,000-2,000)
