EARLY AMERICAN TREEN CANISTER WITH COVER. Last quarter 18th century. Circular canister carved from the solid fitted with a conforming top with acorn finial. SIZE: 5″ h x 3-3/4″ dia. PROVENANCE: Accompanying this lot is single page of family history surrounding item. Document is a transcription from writing on the base of canister, in pencil, stating “Belonged to/Lydia Little/Col Moses Little/from the estate of/Miss Sarah Cutler/Lydia Little’s great/granddaughter”. Col. Moses Little of Turkey Hill, West Newbury, MA married Lydia. CONDITION: Very good overall with nice patina and early surfaces. Canister side with old shrinkage crack. 9-21767 (400-600)
