CARVED WOOD ROCKING HORSE ON FRAME. Last quarter 19th century, American. The painted carved wooden horse depicted in a running position with red nostrils and black hoofs, fitted with a leather bridle and a leather covered wood saddle, the neck fixed with handles, mounted on an arched wood frame fitted with coil springs on a trestle base. SIZE: Overall 34″ h x 39″ l. CONDITION: Ears, mane, stirrups and tail missing. Body paint a later addition. Saddle and blanket with extreme wear. Fair to good overall. 9-96854 (500-700)
