GROUP OF CANTON AND ENGLISH TRANSFER DINNERWARES. Mid 19th century, China. Lot comprised of 16 Canton dishes decorated in underglaze blue with marine and pastoral scenes. Covered ginger jar decorated in underglaze blue with fishermen in a landscape. Blue transferware serving platter decorated in underglaze blue flowering landscapes together with two English oval strainers decorated in underglaze blue in the Oriental palette. SIZE: Plates: ranging in size from 10-1/2″ dia to 7-1/2″ dia. Jar: 7-1/2″ h. Platter: 15-1/2″ x 12-1/4″. Strainers: 14″ x 10-3/4″ and 12-1/4″ x 9-1/4″. CONDITION: Plates: generally good. Some with shallow chips at edge. Ginger jar generally very good. Platter with chip at midpoint of edge and with tight spider hairline in bottom. Strainers very good. 9-28330-5 (400-600)
