19TH CENTURY DECORATED TREASURES BOX. This mid-19th Century box features a sliding lid top fitted with locking device. The lid is painted decorated with a portrait of a young lady wearing a low slung red top and an early style black & white striped dress of the 1850-1860s style. Box is made of hardwood, possibly walnut. SIZE: 13-1/2” sq. CONDITION: Well patinaed with age, portrait scene shows some wear. Otherwise generally good. 8-86952 (300-500)
