PAIR OF ORIENTAL CARVED BOWMEN ON HORSEBACK. Probably Japanese, each warrior mounted on a rearing horse and in the act of firing an arrow. Each mounted on a stylized rectangular footed plinth and all polychrome painted in reds, blues greens and yellows. The warriors in period armor and headdresses with top knots, similar to samurai. SIZE: Overall: 37″ h x 25″ l x 21″ w. CONDITION: Both with original dry painted surfaces. One missing finial on helmet. One with broken bow. Otherwise good overall. 9-96811 (2,500-3,500)
